This project involved a basic residential structure that was completely transformed into a sublime modern masterpiece by the Francois Marais signature design process. With its top-notch setting, the house became even more enticing once we highlighted its ocean views and perfectly framed the view of the 12 Apostles.
The rigid and linear style of the house's modern design contrasts quite superbly with the relaxed and natural look of the nearby beach and ocean. No to mention the amazing colour contrast achieved by combining soft neutral- and earthy tones with the rich blues of the modern swimming pool and Atlantic Ocean.
The perfect place for hosting, entertaining, and relaxing an in al fresco setting while enjoying a one-in-a-million view.

The elevated location and design of the house ensures a royal ambience enjoyed from the patios and balconies.
A mixing and matching of soft neutrals for the interiors ensure an almost monochrome look - perfect for making the already spacious interiors seem even more open and welcoming, while also helping to reflect natural- and artificial light.
Carefully located clerestory windows usher in an extra batch of natural light and ocean views.
Plush furniture pieces in stone grey become quite prominent when paired with the surrounding off-white hues. And floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows are just the thing to help the lush views and natural colours of the outdoors become part of the interior palette.
An open-plan layout that ups the social ambience while also keeping the separate zones (i.e. cooking, dining, seating) subtly divided.
One of the numerous spots in / outside the house where one can appreciate the magnificence of Cape Town's 12 Apostles on one side, and the majestic Atlantic Ocean on the other.
The subtle colour palette is beautifully repeated in the private areas of the home, yet pops of colour (such as Plum and Eggplant) ensure some fresh character, especially for the bedrooms.
