We are a design practice which engages in interior renovation, architecture and urban design.
We are based in Tokyo but had actively built in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. When conceptualising our design, on top of addressing visible factors such as culture, history and community, we aim to capture the essence of design that is otherwise invisible. Approaching each project from a unique standpoint, we deeply analyse their context and formulate innovative design solutions. In every space there exist special characteristics with regard to its shape. Take for example our practice's name, Circle ◯, there is no linear movement of beginning and end, and it subtly hints towards a centrifugal point. It is both a form that circumnavigates at the perimeter and a stable enclosure for community. With this in mind, we approach design with the same richness of meanings accorded to different shapes and spaces. Expanding on this concept, we challenge the readymade notions of spaces and shapes, and aspire to provide new imaginations to the City and Architecture.
