We may not spend as much time in our bathrooms as say, the living room or the kitchen, but having a clean and pleasant salle de bains is equally as important as having a lovely lounge. This can leave us with the dilemma of what to do with a less than brilliant rental bathroom, after all, as a rental we’re restricted as to what we can change.

You can't make any major changes, but surely replacing the shower head is ok?
A stylish new shower curtain is a simple change that can go some way toward improving the space.
If the floor is particularly unpleasant there are ways in which you can cover it that won't upset your landlord: you could lay strips of wooden decking resembling that in the shower pictured above, or peel and stick adhesive vinyls.
