Today on homify we have another Mexican home from the team at Arsciniest, and it's not so dissimilar to the last! Their signature style—characterised by a grand and barricaded street presence, lofty interior volumes, and tropical outdoor living at its finest—is alive and well in this grand abode.

Located in Hermosillo, Sonora, the project occupies an area of 450 square meters over two levels. Extensive and large windows allow a high amount of natural light into the building and create a wonderful connection between the home's interior spaces and exterior spaces.

Let's take a closer look inside and out…

From the street

The structure of the house is comprised of concrete, brick and steel. The white finish to the exterior, with natural wood soffit linings and quarry gray accents, introduces the aesthetic which marks the interior also; white on the walls with a carefully selected array of contrasting materials and textures.

Let's move beyond those striking black gates and into the home's inner sanctuary…

The entry

The main entrance is approached through a large metal gate, from there one enters the home via a double-height lobby, which leads to the living room, kitchen, patio, master bedroom, half bathroom, stairs and elevator.

This entry is carefully composed and thoughtfully orchestrated. The ever-so-small raises in level create a moment of pause as one leaves the atmosphere they are in to enter the innermost interior of the home.

Double height living room

Ahh, now there's that grand and lofty interior volume that is synonymous with Arsciniest's residential interiors! Marble lines the floor; quarried stone one of the walls; and full height windows stand proud and impressively on the garden facade.

The central chandelier and opulent furniture are equally impressive. For more inspiration on all thing living spaces—from the lavish to the most minimal of spaces—take a look here!

Mezzanine

Swinging around, we can see the large mezzanine that opens onto this social heart of the home. The central cavity connects the various elements and volumes and establishes a hierarchy of spaces.

The furniture is characteristic of the architects selections, as are the furnishing and finishes.

Outdoor kitchen!

Now, it's only fitting to conclude the tour with the jewel of the home: the outdoor living area! Not only does it offer lush green grass, palm trees, and timber decking, it has a fully covered outdoor kitchen, too—and a very stylish one at that. The sophisticated black and white aesthetic is given an added touch of sleek and cool with the addition of stainless steel cupboard fronts.

It's innovative, functional, and stylish: the self-proclaimed benchmarks of the firms design intent! And if you liked this tour, you'll love: A boxy tropical home.
